Join us this summer for Summer Horsemanship camps, open to children ages 6-12. This is an opportunity to learn more about horses – from grooming and riding to their care and feeding – in a friendly, facilitated environment where the love for horses is foundational and taught by experienced instructors who not only are knowledgeable, but have hands on experience with horses of their own! Spending time with these amazing animals not only instills an appreciation for animals and their care, but educates on the responsibilities they require to live a happy, content life with us.
The day begins with a short meet and greet with parents, students and the instructors and camp tee-shirts are handed out. Then the students head to the grooming bays to get the horses ready, where their first shared session will be held in the large indoor arena. Half of the students will be given an introduction to Vaulting class, and the other half will be given an introduction to basic Western riding. Then a break with snacks and water provided, (students are more than welcome to bring their own snacks or lunch) and art projects, games or a grooming session with our miniature horses. After the break the group will commence and switch sessions so everyone gets the chance to experience vaulting and intro to riding. The camp concludes with a scavenger hunt and final goodbye to the horses with a completion award.
This event is suitable for any student with little or no riding experience (horses and tack provided). More advanced students please contact us for other camp options.
